
Paediatric First Aid
Protecting little lives with practical confidence. Our Paediatric First Aid course provides learners with the knowledge, practical skills and confidence needed to respond to a wide range of injuries and medical emergencies involving babies and children.
This comprehensive two-day course is designed for people who work with or care for children. Through practical activities and realistic scenarios, learners develop the ability to assess emergencies, provide appropriate first aid and support a baby or child until professional medical help arrives.

It is particularly suitable for early-years practitioners who require a full Paediatric First Aid qualification.
What will learners cover?
Learners will develop the skills to:
Assess and manage paediatric emergencies
Manage an unresponsive baby or child
Perform infant and child CPR
Use an AED safely
Respond to choking
Control bleeding and manage shock
Treat burns, fractures and head injuries
Recognise meningitis and sepsis
Respond to seizures and febrile convulsions
Manage asthma, diabetes and anaphylaxis
Respond to poisoning, bites and stings
Treat minor injuries
Record and report incidents appropriately

Duration: Two days, with a minimum of 12 hours of training
Delivery: Face-to-face practical training
Maximum group size: 12 learners
Assessment: Practical demonstrations and knowledge assessment
Certification: Qualification valid for three years
Entry requirements: No previous first-aid qualification is required
