Health & Safety in the Workplace - FAA Level 3 Award

Ensuring health and safety in the workplace is vital for all businesses. It safeguards employees and the public while also reducing the risk of costly legal issues and reputational damage in the event of incidents.


The FAA Level 3 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (RQF) offers learners a thorough understanding of health and safety principles and outlines effective management strategies. This course is primarily aimed at supervisors, managers and individuals preparing to take on health and safety roles within the workplace.



Syllabus

A range of subjects are covered including:

  • Legislation

  • Costs of poor health and safety

  • Enforcement agencies

  • Health, safety and welfare provisions

  • Communicating health and safety

  • Managing health and safety

  • Workplace hazards

  • Risk assessments

  • Reporting and investigating accidents

  • Mental health in the workplace

  • Manual handling

  • Fire safety

  • Hazardous substances

  • Electrical safety

  • Safe use of work equipment

Duration

This is a three-day classroom based course, with a minimum total of 18 hours learning. Dependent on the learner’s experience, there may well be some pre-course or post-course reading.

Certification

Assessment is on-going by the instructor, culminating in a question paper.


This qualification does not expire, but refresher training and keeping up to date with changes to policies and procedures is vital to keep the qualification current.

Numbers

A maximum of 16 students can be accommodated on this course and all candidates must be a minimum of 16 years of age to qualify.
